As men when it comes to weddings we leave basically everything in the hands of our women. But it's one particular thing that bothers me about men getting married…..RENTED TUXEDOS. I’m finding it hard to understand why the groom would want to “rent” a tuxedo anyway. A tuxedo is the most respected form of dress, and every man needs at least one in his closet. Unlike the wedding dress a tuxedo isn’t the most priciest thing on earth. Men have been tricked by society to think you won’t ever wear a tux again so it's best to rent one; Which is bologna if you plan on ever going to a formal occaison.
There isn’t a more elegant way of dress for a man, than in a tuxedo. Now I’m not saying boycott Men's Wearhouse or Tuxedo Junction (Yes I am lol) but these places don’t guarantee you’ll be your flyest at your wedding. If you plan on getting married its best to get a custom bespoke tuxedo. Your 'wife to be' is spending a ton of time picking out the perfect dress, you should be as serious as she is. Pay her the respect by getting a custom built suit designed just to fascinate her, not a suit that a guy has already worn. That asshole may have been the worst husband ever, its best to play it safe. A rented tux maybe a jinx (you never know). Plus you get to choose your own fabric and style. Why not have a say so?
For insight, the only difference between a suit and a tuxedo jacket is the jacket lapel. The tuxedo jacket lapel is usually of satin material while the suit lapel is of the same material as the suit jacket.
Overall this means that it is okay to wear a suit in your wedding AS LONG AS IT ISNT RENTED! You will appreciate your marriage a bit more if your suit doesn’t have to be back by noon the next day. I’m also sure your groomsmen would accept a custom suit as a gift. But the choice is yours. Going custom ensures better fit, better fabric, and overall better look. Future husbands please go bespoke!!! Future wives please encourage this!!!
