"What to Wear to Work"

This past Friday I attended a wonderful seminar downtown Cleveland, OH with presenter Danielle Turcola, President of Professional International, Inc. Danielle Turcola is one of America's top business consultants specializing in presence development, influence, and international protocol. She helps clients project a credible, memorable, and influential presence in five seconds. I learned so much from Danielle and I recommend her for anyone truly looking to clean up their image. Danielle spoke on a corporate level of what to wear to work but her tips can be used universally from everyday up to the corporate level. After attending this seminar I was eager to share a few key things I noted.

Appearance is the first filter. Color, Form, Sound then Knowledge. Which means people see the color first! Skin color is always first, what you are wearing, then hair. Form which is your posture and  height. Sound of your voice. Lastly, Knowledge your education/ degree and experience.

"Everyone is influential, either positive or negative."

"Taller men are offered more money than shorter men."

"Business Ready is dressing each day to take advantage of unexpected career opportunities."

"When your appearance declines so does your work"

"A jacket is a garment of authority"

"Button-down collars are not worn with suits or double- breasted jackets."
"Alteration gives a less expensive garment a custom look"------sidebar: this is the motto I live by

"Invest in the upper 3rd" which means that invest in the upper 3rd of your body because this is what is seen first.

Each color has meaning
Black- Trust
Yellow- Friendly
Navy- Authority
Pink- Romance
Gray- Conservative
Green- Environment
Red- Life/ Energy
Orange- Declassifying
Purple- Royalty
Blue- Serenity
White- Purity
Brown- Homey

"Your presence ultimately reflects your character" which means your image can be clean but character is who you are when no on is looking.

I am happy to share a few of my notes from the program but these notes can't compare to an actual program presented by Danielle. You can learn more about Danielle and her programs here at www.askdanielle.com
